Newbattle Abbey Christmas returns! This Christmas craft fair is held in the stunning surrounds of Newbattle Abbey College, just outside Edinburgh.
Situated near Dalkeith, to the south of Edinburgh, Newbattle Abbey Christmas will be held in the historic building founded as a Cistercian Monastery in 1140 by King David I. What is now Newbattle Abbey College became the Kerr family home in the 16th century, before becoming an adult residential college in 1937. The army requisitioned Newbattle during World War 2, it opened its doors as a college again in 1950. It has retained many of the original features including the vaulted crypt and the breath-taking Drawing Room.
Newbattle Abbey College is off Newbattle Road, Dalkeith, EH22 3LL. There is plenty of parking. Open 10:30am – 4pm each day. There is an £3 entrance fee (£2 Concession). Tickets are available on the door, organised by 3D2D.
This Christmas market will have an impressive display of Scottish crafts and perfect gifts for Christmas, Baigali Designs will be there for the weekend.
A golden opportunity to see and talk with an array of craftspeople and myself at the Baigali Designs stall.
There will be a superb range of food and a wonderfully unique collection of jewellery together with fabulous worked silks & wool – all lovingly handmade in Scotland.
